Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is one of the most effective forms of unarmed combat in the world, as continuously proven in mixed martial arts (MMA) contests across the globe.

As a grappling-centric art, the goal of BJJ is to apply leverage and technique to force your opponent into submission using joint locks and chokes. BJJ’s unique emphasis on technique and leverage is designed to allow a smaller person to defeat a bigger and stronger opponent.

Our BJJ classes cater for absolute beginners to advanced and competitors. Students of all fitness and experience levels are welcome to join us on the mats.

Introduction

Get started on your BJJ journey with an introductory class that focuses into the essentials of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, covering cultural aspects, fundamental positions, goals, and rules.

You will find a welcoming environment, emphasising respect and a commitment to continuous learning within the Jiu-Jitsu community.

Fundamentals

Learn and practice the fundamental aspects of BJJ. Reinforcing culture, positions, goals, and rules, this class ensures you master the basics and helps you build a solid foundation of essential Jiu-Jitsu skills.

Women

At Garage, we are proud to offer a very welcoming environment for women of all skill and experience levels! 

The number of women in our team continues to grow each year, and we look forward to welcoming more women into our community!

Kids

We strongly believe that helping kids and teens gain self-confidence, discipline, and humbleness at early stages in life is key.

Our classes focus on developing motor coordination, discipline, teamwork, confidence, and self-defense. Each session incorporates a blend of physical and technical drills, live sparring, gameplay, and more.

Intermediate

If you already know the basic elements of Jiu-Jitsu, it is time to sharpen your game. This class is suitable for all students from white belt two stripes and above. This is where the higher and lower belts gather and learn together.

Advanced

Tailored for experienced Jiu-Jitsu practitioners, this class focuses on high-level techniques, advanced practice, and specialised training for competitions.

No-Gi

No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu classes are a form of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where practitioners don't wear the traditional Gi, focusing on grappling without the use of the uniform.

Judo

Judo classes concentrate on takedowns, utilising the Gi for effective grips and control to bring opponents to the mat. Tailored to enhance your stand-up skills in Jiu Jitsu, this class is designed with your improvement in mind.

Wrestling

Wrestling classes emphasise takedowns and pinning, similar to Judo but without the Gi. Led by highly qualified instructors, these classes are essential for improving your NoGi takedown game.

Private Class

Private classes are the fastest way to build skills and confidence on the mats. It's the chance for your coach to focus exclusively on your learning.

We offer maximum flexibility, accommodating your schedule during daytime, evenings, weekdays, and weekends.

Open Mats

Free time for members and visitors to work on specific techniques or just spar with each other in a controlled environment. A great way to build a sense of community within the gym!
